Alex has been working with students for over four years online, in-person, and in school. This is her second year working with Spark Ed Therapy. Prior to that, she was an Academy Teacher with Lindamood-Bell Learning. There, she led successful online homeschool programs for middle school students using Pearson Online Academy, N2Y, and all Lindamood-Bell programs. Alex also conducted in-person instruction at a Lindamood-Bell Learning Center including: Seeing Stars, On Cloud 9, and Visualising and Verbalizing. She has experience with teaching students of diverse backgrounds and specialized needs. Prior to working at Lindamood-Bell, Alex was an Americorps teacher for City Year.
Alex enjoys teaching reading, writing, and history. In her free time, she likes to work on her own writing projects. Her favorite authors include the Brontë sisters, Stephen King, and Sabaa Tahir. She holds a BA in English with a minor in Classical Civilizations, as well as a BS in Film & Television, both from Boston University.

Spanish Spanish Educator & Mindfulness Coach

Ana María is a passionate bilingual professional with over a decade of experience in Spanish language education, cultural training, and mindfulness-based learning. Born in Colombia and fluent in both Spanish and English, she brings a unique blend of academic expertise, cross-cultural sensitivity, and compassionate teaching to her work with students, families, and organizations.
She has taught Spanish at both the university and high school levels and developed specialized language courses for healthcare professionals. Most recently, Ana María has been facilitating mindfulness-based social emotional learning programs and offering one-on-one coaching for kids and teens, helping them build emotional resilience, self-awareness, and confidence.
Ana María holds a Master’s in Language, Literature, and Translation from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, as well as degrees in Psychology from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Colombia and Universidad de Buenos Aires in Argentina.
Her teaching philosophy centers on connection, through language, culture, and mindfulness. She is committed to creating inclusive, engaging learning environments where every student feels supported, valued, and empowered to grow.
Outside of her work, Ana María enjoys traveling, practicing yoga, reading, and spending time in nature

Molly K.

This is Molly’s second year supporting students at Spark Educational Therapy. Molly’s teaching experience includes working with LAUSD as a librarian and mentoring future engineers with Girls Who Code. Molly enjoys getting students excited about math and science. When not working with students, Molly can be found hiking with their dog or swimming. Sigrid Nunez is one of their favorite authors, and they’ve recently been devouring the young adult series: “Keeper of the Lost Cities.” Molly holds a B.A. in Geosciences from Smith College with concentrations in French Studies and Engineering. Molly also holds a Software Engineering Certification from Flatiron School.
